Here are 5 tried-and-tested strategies to help bring more people through your doors and increase the revenue of your Family Entertainment Centre.

In any brick-and-mortar business the aim is to get as many people through the door as possible. The more people that come through the door, the greater the opportunity there is for sales leading to higher revenue, and ideally, profits.

Regardless of what stage you are at with your FEC, there will be many benefits to increasing foot traffic.

 1. Referrals

As a business owner, you are probably more than aware of the power of word-of-mouth marketing in bringing new customers to your business. It’s a great low cost, yet highly effective strategy based around creating high levels of customer satisfaction.

People will be more inclined to bring their friends and family to places they feel more assured of having a good time. Based on this, you can incentivise current guests to bring new visitors through promotions. For example, running a ‘Bring a Friend’ promo, where a group of four people get free $10 game cards, or an added game for free.

2. Host a Community Event

Community events are great for your FEC to host as they will bring in many potential customers, increase the impulse spending and develop a connection between the community and your FEC.

Hosting events in collaboration with other businesses or organisations is a further way to connect with the community and create links to other brands. For example holding a fundraiser for the local school or sporting team will allow you to create a unique and memorable experience for them, as well as bring a much larger audience through your doors.

The key is to make sure you take advantage of all the foot traffic through offering discounts aiming to get as many people interacting with your games as possible. Additionally, it is important to push your various social media accounts or email subscription, to keep your Family Entertainment Centre and event in people’s thoughts.

3. Put Together a Loyalty Program

Whilst getting new people to come through the door is great, most business will earn the majority of the revenue from repeat customers. That means you have to make an effort to ensure that your existing customers are coming back.

Loyalty programs are a great way of bringing customers back through rewarding them for their loyalty to your Family Entertainment Centre. This creates a sense of importance for the customer and is a great way to build a lasting relationship with them.

4. Be Found Online

Having an online presence is becoming more and more important for businesses given that we are in the digital era. Consumers or potential consumers are now much more likely to form their opinions or preferences based on what they see within their digital platforms.

Building an amazing website and creating fun, interactive social media accounts is a great starting point for your business when creating a presence online. When building your website you must be clear with all the information a potential consumer would need, as well as being vibrant with lots of visual content.

On your social media accounts it's important to post regularly, reminding your followers that your still there and how much fun they can have. Let your audience know everything that’s going on, have you got a new game? Is there an exciting event taking place soon? Do you have any special offers going on at the moment?

One other key step to take which can be overlooked is taking advantage of your free business listing on the major searching platforms, like Google, Bing or Yahoo. This will allow people to easily search for your business and find your address, phone number and other relevant information.

5. Stay in Touch

One of the most effective methods of marketing is email, due to its high rate of conversion amongst other digital strategies. It is another great method for your FEC to employ as it quite cheap, yet also effective in keeping your FEC in the minds of new and existing customers.

Email is separated from other forms of digital marketing through its level of intimacy it can achieve with each customer. Given the recipients on your list have voluntarily subscribed to your emails, there is a better chance that they will be interested and want to take action after reading the email.

To gather more subscribers on your email list it is important to have a subscription form on the most visited pages on your website and encourage new customers to sign up in your FEC.

Offering incentives for customers to sign up, like a registration bonus or coupons in exchange for their emails, is an effective way of growing your subscription list. Once you have an email list you must then stay in touch through newsletters and regular updates on promotions or events, encouraging your subscribers to visit your venue.

Different employees work differently depending on the manager. Taking the time to make the right selection for the manager you’re going to bring on board is essential. If you bring in the wrong person who doesn’t believe in your culture or plan, does not care about your employees, or doesn’t care about the business that much, it can really move your culture backward," emphasizes Ahmad.
