Get More Foot Traffic to Your FEC
One of the primary goals of any FEC owner or operator is to attract and retain customers. More traffic means more opportunities for sales and customer engagement, which leads to higher revenues.
Whether you’re just opening a new location or you’ve been up and running for a while, there’s a lot you can do to increase foot traffic to your entertainment center.
Here are 5 tried-and-tested ideas to help you get more people to walk through the door and increase sales in your FEC.
#1 – Referrals
As a business owner, you probably already know that happy customers are your secret weapon. Referral marketing is a low-cost but very effective way to get more business from your existing guests.
People usually bring their family and friends to places where they know they will have a good time, and with a little creativity, you can inspire your current guests to bring new visitors on a regular basis.
For example, you could run a ‘Bring a Friend’ Promo: Bring a friend in and get a FREE round of Mini Golf or Laser Tag when they register a new card, or, if you come with a party of 4 or more guests, you’ll receive $10 FREE Game Play!
#2 – Host a Community Event
Hosting events is one of the best ways to increase awareness in the local community, get people into your venue, and boost impulse spending.
To make your events even more fun and exciting, consider teaming up with other businesses nearby to tap into a new audience. It could be a local sport club’s party, a school fundraiser, or live music night featuring a local band! This will allow you the opportunity to draw in more traffic by offering your customers something unique, expanding your reach and growing your relationships with individuals and organizations in your community.
Don’t forget to feature the event ahead of time on your website and social media, reach out to local media outlets and email your customer contact list!
#3 – Put Together a Loyalty Program
Your foot traffic strategy shouldn’t just be about getting new people to walk through the doors. Make sure that you’re also putting significant focus on getting your existing customers to come back.
A great way to encourage return visits is to build a loyalty program. Reward your good old loyal customers and show them how important they are to you. The use of the Reward Program capabilities within your Embed system can help you achieve these goals – increased foot traffic, more repeat visits and deeper guest engagement.

#4 – Be Found Online
In the digital era, it is absolutely essential for your business to have an online presence. If your customers or potential customers don’t see you there, you could be losing out on the opportunity to increase your audience and get the word out about your business.
Build a great Website with clear information for people to find everything they need. Be sure to include plenty of visual content including recent photos, and if possible, a virtual tour of your facility. Don’t forget to update your site regularly with news, promos and special events!
Regularly post on your social media accounts to remind people that you are there and how much fun you are. For example, do you have a new game in-store? Are you running any charity or community events? Do you have any special offers going on? These are all great pieces of content to showcase on social media and engage with customers!
To increase foot traffic, you’ve got to direct people to the right address! If you haven’t done so already, claim your free business listing on the major search engines like Google Business, Yahoo and Bing. Double check that your name, address, opening hours, and phone number are accurate.
#5 – Stay in Touch
Email is still one of the highest converting forms of digital marketing, and is a great way to stay top of mind with new and existing customers.
What sets email apart from many other online marketing initiatives is the level of intimacy. The subscribers on your list have explicitly chosen to receive communications from you. They want to hear from you, which means they are more likely to take action after reading your email.
Make sure to place the subscription form on the most visited pages of your website, including the homepage. If you host an event that brings in new customers, encourage them to sign up for your emails. Encourage guests to register their cards and get their consent to add their email addresses to your list. Offering an incentive such as a Registration Bonus, a prize, coupon or free giveaway in exchange for an email address, is always effective. Then stay in touch, set-up an e-newsletter program, send out regular updates about special offers, events, new games and attractions and encourage your subscribers to visit your venue by showing them where your nearest locations are.
